Religious Education

Pembridge Hall Religious Education

At Pembridge Hall, Religious Education plays an important role in promoting the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils.

Pupils enjoy exploring religious beliefs and practices within Christianity and other World Religions. Respect towards other Faiths is fostered through creative and challenging lessons which develop knowledge and understanding of different communities and festivals.

Pupils are given the opportunity to reflect upon their own values and beliefs in light of their learning and are encouraged to develop and reflect on morality through a consideration of religious codes of conduct.

We use a variety of active teaching and learning strategies to allow pupils to appreciate the diversity and richness of other cultures.

For the very young this is achieved through sense experience, exploration, conversation and play.

We use a variety of active teaching and learning strategies to allow pupils to appreciate the diversity and richness of other cultures.

Older pupils investigate and discuss through drama, role plays, visits to places of worship, talks by religious leaders and by examining artefacts, posters and interactive programmes.
